Trail Day Details

  • PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST:

 

  • The Four Wheel Freedom team will be hosting an epic trail run May 30th at 9:00am, We will rally at Four Wheel Freedom at 9:00am sharp
  • We will all convoy to the designated trail where the “Trail Lead” will ensure all drivers can identify and understand how to stay connected with respect to radio communications and are briefed on current trail conditions.
  • We are going to run peak to peak at the Mclean Creek Pluz. First destination will be the summit of Quirk Ridge, then we will make our way back to Top of The World at the opposite side of the PLUZ. We will be tasking the back side route which is substantially more technical.
  • Both peaks offer altitudes of 5500-6500 feet of elevation so you will get lots of opportunity for spectacular views!
  • Due to Trail conditions, you MUST meet all of the trail requirements and be aware this is not an easy run, you will rub some kid plates and pin-striping some paint will happen.

 

Required to attend:

  • Front and rear recovery points
  • Operating front winch
  • Recovery gear including kinetic rope, tree saver, and a minimum of x2 soft shackles
  • Basic hand tools
  • Full size spare tire and ability to change it
  • GMRS/FRS radio
  • Minimum tire size of 33" tall

These requirements are put in place to keep everyone safe incase a recovery is needed.

Don't forget to pack a lunch, snacks and water! There is no set end time for this event.

IMPORTANT:  Most areas will be out of cellular service. Check the forecast and be prepared for weather conditions. Please dress accordingly as the weather can change hourly in the Rocky Mountains.
