FARNHAM GLACIER CAMP TRIP

Details  

  • The Four Wheel Freedom team will be heading to Invermere and Farnham Glacier for an overlanding camp trip!

  • We will rally at the store for 5:00pm Friday Aug 15th and leave at 5:30pm sharp. The shop will close early.
  • We will all convoy to Invermere which is about a 3 hour trip from the shop and proceed to an amazing campsite just past the town with an awesome sunset view.
  • This campsite is flat and perfect for off road trailers, ground tents and rooftop tents.
  • The next morning (16th) we will all pack up and head up to Farnham Glacier for the day/night.
  • Make sure to bring enough water and food for the weekend! 

The last part of this trail is challenging, but will be most challenging for anyone brining an offroad trailer. We can drop any gear and trailers at the high elevation base camp and then make the final push where where you will have the opportunity to get severely stuck in glacial snow while admiring the million dollar views! 

The glacial base camp is rocky and not suited to ground tents but many level spots to park for those that wish to watch the sunset. Those with ground tents or trailers can head for lower ground and there is a second campsite right by the river in the valley below. 

Sunday we will all pack up and convoy back to Calgary.

  • Must have full size spare 
  • GMRS/FRS Radio 
  • Recovery Points Front & Rear
  • MINIMUM tire size 33" 
  • Personal recovery gear
  • Basic Hand Tools
